Beautifully Inspiring - Pageant Girl
Pageant competitions are often judged on appearance alone, but one organisation has spent more than a decade demonstrating that a title can be a platform for something more substantial.

Pageant competitions are often judged on appearance alone, but one organisation has spent more than a decade demonstrating that a title can be a platform for something more substantial.
Since 2012, competitions run under the Pageant Girl banner have raised over £800,000 for charity. Finalists and crowned queens are encouraged to make their year count rather than leave their sash and crown on a shelf. Those who take up the challenge can fundraise for the organisation’s chosen causes and make public appearances in their local and national communities.
The Christie
The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres and is recognised as a world pioneer in cancer care, treatment and research. It was the first UK centre to be officially accredited as a comprehensive cancer centre.
From 2017, fundraising donated on behalf of the competitions has contributed towards the construction and development of the UK’s first high energy proton beam therapy service. It will be one of only two high energy NHS proton beam therapy centres, with the other being built at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Together for Short Lives
Together for Short Lives is a leading UK charity for children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions. It helps children and their families to access specialist children’s palliative care services, day and night, seven days a week, when and where they are needed.
Finalists in the Miss Teen Great Britain competition fundraise for Together for Short Lives, and the money raised is donated to the contestants’ local children’s hospice. This means finalists are supporting hospices that directly benefit their own communities.
Claire House Children’s Hospice
Between 2012 and 2014, the Miss Teen Great Britain competition supported Claire House Children’s Hospice. Contestants raised an incredible total of more than £40,000 during that period.
