Beauty Queen Sarah secures best British result for 15 years in Weightlifting World Championships! - Pageant Girl

British weightlifter Sarah Davies delivered the strongest World Championships performance by a British athlete in fifteen years, finishing sixth in the 63kg category in Anaheim, California.

Davies, who competes at -63kg and holds the title of Miss West Yorkshire International, posted a total of 209kg. She sat fifteenth after the snatch phase before climbing the standings with a second clean and jerk of 121kg. She was part of a five-strong British squad at the competition.

Her sixth-place finish is the best result by a British lifter at a World Championships since Michaela Breeze took fifth place in 2002.

Davies finished seventh at the Commonwealth Games in 2014. Alongside her weightlifting career, she has spent the past five years competing in pageantry, representing her home town in Miss England, Miss Galaxy England and the United Kingdom Power Pageant.

In 2017, her fundraising and volunteering work within the pageant industry led to her being named one of the first Beautifully Inspiring Ambassadors. Her achievements continue to challenge the stereotypes often associated with pageants.
