Contestants at an international pageant in The Bahamas have spent their first full day on the islands combining sightseeing with the start of their competition preparations.
An island tour
The group began with a guided tour of The Bahamas, arranged with the country’s tourism board. The itinerary covered the islands’ history, culture and scenery, and by all accounts the delegates came away smitten with the place.
The trip also served as an introduction to the week ahead, with the same tour expected to form part of next year’s programme for a fresh set of finalists.
First rehearsals
Later the same day, the contestants moved into their first rehearsal session. They began learning the opening number, the routine that brings all delegates together on stage at the start of the final, before moving on to individual choreography work covering walk, stage presence and confidence.
Every delegate will compete in two core rounds: fashionwear, which allows contestants to express their own style and personality, and eveningwear, where poise and elegance are the focus. Those competing in the Miss, Ms and Mrs divisions will also take part in a swimwear round.
Rehearsals are closed to outside observers, so no footage from inside the room has been released.
Reigning titleholders prepare to hand over
Three international titleholders — Scarlett, Kerys and Danielle — won their titles last year and will crown their successors this weekend.
Interviews and the White Party
The delegates were due to sit private interviews with the judges, with those scores counting towards the overall result. In the evening, the group was set to gather for the Galaxy White Party, a fixture borrowed from the international competition and now a regular part of the UK finals.
Directors meet
Behind the scenes, the UK director joined the annual directors’ meeting alongside the chief executive of the pageant organisation and counterparts from The Bahamas, Canada, Australia, The Netherlands and other countries.
Finals date and how to follow
The international grand finals take place on Saturday 8 August 2027, with coverage details to be shared on the organisation’s social channels. A messaging group has also been set up so supporters can follow along together.
The UK edition of the pageant is scheduled for March 2027 and will follow a similar structure to the international event, using the same rounds.
